Antagonists, or simply enemies, are the main villains and the opposite of the protagonist of The Getaway series. The antagonist of a 'The Getaway' game is usually a person that has betrayed or hurt the protagonist on a personal and social level, and spends the game moving against the protagonist in multiple ways. In this list the main antagonist is listed first for each game, followed by secondary antagonists and so on.

DescriptionEdit

The main character always hunts down and eliminates the main antagonist eventually, usually in a major battle at the end of the game.

There are both main and secondary antagonists of the game; the main antagonist is generally the one who causes the most drama to the game's story and ultimately commits the crimes that causes the most emotional anger in the protagonist. Secondary antagonists are characters who end up playing muchly the same role, but to a lesser degree. Often, the secondary and primary antagonists have some sort of affiliation with each other.

Antagonists usually have a gang behind them for protection. The protagonist will battle against the antagonist's gang in order to get to the main antagonist. In every The Getaway game, the main antagonist dies and is sometimes joined by the secondary antagonist at the end of the game in a final battle, which wraps up the main storyline.

Main AntagonistsEdit

In both The Getaway games, there is one main antagonist who is eliminated in the finale of the game, bringing an end to the storyline.

The Getaway Edit

CharlieJolson
Charlie Jolson
Charlie Jolson is the main antagonist of The Getaway. Acting as leader of the notorious London gang, the Bethnal Green Mob, he decides to eliminate his competition and take over London. He does this by arranging the kidnapping of Mark Hammond's son, Alex Hammond, and the murder of his wife, Suzie Hammond. He then blackmails Mark into doing jobs for him across the city. He has Mark attack each other gang in turn, in order to cause a gang war. When he pushes Mark to the limit, Mark tries to go against him and rescue his son. Charlie has Mark captured and arranges him to be handed over to the other gangs at an old boat called the Sol Vita. He intends to end them all with a powerful bomb that will kill everyone on board, including Mark. Charlie's plan ultimately fails thanks to Frank Carter, who rescues Mark from a locked cell at Charlie's warehouse. They then team up and take on Charlie's gang before confronting him with all the other gang leaders. Mark explains his story to the other gang leaders who agree to let Mark go and prepare to execute Charlie. Knowing the game is up, Charlie produces the detonator for the bomb and activates the timer. He ultimately kills himself in the bomb explosion as well as taking many other gangsters with him.

He arranges an arms deal with the Yardies and orders his men to silence journalist Jackie Philips, who is investigating the gang. When his icon is stolen by Danny West and his crew, Viktor is furious and arranges his men to hunt them down. He personally visits the gymnasium and murders Danny West as well as ordering his men to kill anyone else in the gym, including a young boy called Sleeves. After the massacre, Viktor has his top man, Alexei, visit Jimmer Collins to find out information about his stolen icon, which still cannot be found. When the police arrive, Viktor flees back to his mansion and escapes across the rooftops. Eddie chases him and kills Viktor's bodyguard, Nadya. Viktor panics and phones Alexei and then drives over to his boat where he hops to ambush Eddie. However, Eddie defeats Alexei and confronts Viktor with the police chasing after him. Viktor fights with Eddie on the boat and ends up knocking him unconscious briefly. When Eddie regains consciousness he chases after Viktor into a pumphouse where the boat has crashed next to. After his gangsters are killed by Eddie, Eddie finally defeats Viktor in a shootout at the top of the pumphouse. Eddie kills Viktor and avenges his friends murder.
